Title: Big Data Storage Intern

Location: Shanghai

Hiring team introduction:

Intel Cloud Storage Engineering team is part of Cloud and Bigdata Technology division of Software and Service Group (SSG), focused on delivering optimized open source Cloud and BigData storage solutions based on Intel platforms. We invite you to join us explore, innovate, develop and deliver the state-of-art software defined storage solutions to real customers.
The job offers a variety of opportunities, including but not limited to:
-Innovate and implement next-decade Cloud & BigData storage solutions based on real customer needs
-Deep dive Intel Architecture, 3D Xpoint™ and 3D NAND technologies.
-Opportunity to contribute into open source community
-Opportunity participate industry/academic conference.
-Opportunity to submit papers, file patents
-Preferential to turn to regular employee with outstanding performance when team headcount is available.

Responsibilities:
In this position, you will be responsible for investigating how to build Infrastructure as a service and cloud storage solution with open source software stack (e.g, Redis, Cassandra, MangoDB, Openstack, Ceph, etc), including:
-Conduct performance testing on cloud and big data system with existing tools
-Working closely with senior architects to build storage reference solutions
-Contributing code to Opensource community with coach
Required Skills/Experience:
1.Background of Computer Science or Software Engineering.
2.Solid Linux background and good knowledge in Shell scripting
3.Knowledge of Openstack, SQL, KVM or Ceph, storage software is a plus
4.Good at C/ C++ programming is a plus
5.Passion to contribute to open source community.
6.Passion to learn new technologies
7.Work at Intel office at least 3 days per week, for at least 6 months (one year will be preferred)

-Develop benchmarking tools to evaluate database performance
-Evaluating database performance to identify optimize potential bottlenecks
-Integrating the database to distributed storage systems.
Required Skills/Experience:
1.Computer Science or Software Engineering.
2.Solid Linux background and good knowledge in Shell scripting
3.Good at C/ C++ programming
4.Knowledge of MySQL, SQL, NoSQL, NewSQL database is a plus
5.Passion to learn new technologies
6.Work at Intel office at least 3 days per week, for at least 6 months (one year will be preferred)
