Responsibil- ities for the team include achieving goals for time to market, cost, quality, product availability and order cycle time. The IR NPO intern needs to work closely with experienced team members and support them to act as on-site lead to address issues & escalations on the ground for clo- sure with consensus amongst project teams. This role will regularly interact with cross function- al teams within Apple as well as team members in contract manufacturer management team. Frequent interaction will involve special skills, such as negotiating, managing and influencing OEM manufacturing partners’ behavior. Key Qualifications The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following attributes: Incredible drive, motivation, and energy to complete any challenge given. Smart with analytical capabilities and good business savvy. Exceptional communication skills (in both Mandarin Chinese & English) - verbal, written. Exceptional ability to build relationships, build cross-functional teams and exert effective influence in a matrix organization to resolve conflict and drive consensus. Description As a member of IR NPO team, you will be able to get in touch with excellent operation practice and contribute to the successful launch of Apple Product with your professional knowledge and leadership by achieving: 1) Engage with OEM partners and Apple regional manufacturing teams to understand Factory requirement for a smoothly ramp. 2) Drive OEM and Apple Internal team to meet overall program schedule for Equipment/ Capex procurement and set up. 3) Track and report OEM production fulfillment results vs targets / commits, evaluate risks to target attainment and escalate when necessary. 4) Support to prepare project status updates to various project stakeholders, including team members and executives within Apple and OEMs. Synthesize a multitude of issues into a clear, concise and focused message. 5) Support other simulation on factory production activities during ramp 6) Identify improvement opportunities on either process or tools to improve practice and drive projects to completion. Education The ideal candidate should be currently pursuing a B.S, M.S., or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering/ supply chain management or related fields. A combination of both formal education and experience in Engineering and business is highly desirable. Additional Requirements Experiences in Product/Program Management and manufacturing/supply chain operation. Have an aptitude for acquiring skills Pleasant personality, passion for taking on new challenges and able to work under pressure Have strong communication skills and ability to build strong relationships to influence cross- functional teams Proficiency in using Keynote, Numbers, Microsoft Project or Excel. Consistent attendance for at least 3 month is required. 2.Core OS Triage Engineer Full-time (Shanghai) Job Summary The Core OS Triage team is looking for a triage and development engineer to support the larger engineering organization. The position will include debugging critical software and hardware issues across the entire software stack. You will have the opportunity to have a major impact on the quality of software for Apple''s consumer operating systems products. Key Qualifications •Git version control •Up to 30% travel Description Triage kernel, driver, and firmware issues from internal engineering teams Setup of new development hardware and equipment Develop new tools to automate the triage and identification of software bugs Additional Requirements Preferred Experience: Embedded or mobile technology exposure JTAG and ICE debuggers Knowledge of debugging UNIX kernels 3.Mac System software Engineer Full-time (Shanghai) Job Summary The Mac System Software Team within Apple CoreOS China is seeking an exceptional software engineer to help with debugging and developing the whole software stacks of Mac system for future generations of Macs. Weʼre looking for detail oriented engineers with exceptional problem solving skills and passion for quality who want to define and build future Mac systems. Key Qualifications Have at least 3 years'' work experience in PC industry related (laptop, desktop, server platform or embedded system). A genuine passion for debugging and fixing complicated system issues. Extensive knowledge of hardware platforms & processor architectures. Extensive knowledge and experience in EFI, OS and firmware developing and debugging. A strong software development background to develop new software features/debugging tools/diagnose software. Demonstrated creative and critical independent-thinking capabilities and troubleshooting skills. A genuine passion for improving, quality and making perfect products. Industry exposure to and knowledge of OS tools and UNIX internals.Know stuff like kernel internal such as memory management, process management, file system, drivers and also shell scripting, etc. Not just "I can do perl”. Objective-C/Cocoa programming/Xcode a strong plus, Mac kexts or App development experience a double plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; excellent judgment; a self-directed, proactive approach to tackling problems and working through impediment and an ability to generate trust and build alliances with co-workers. Work cooperatively and proactively with other function teams of Apple to debug/fix Mac system issues and manufacturing issues. Come up with new and innovative ways of increasing manufacturability and testability of Mac system Evangelise and drive the adoption of these technologies and policies across the organisation. Up to 20% travel. Description You will play a central role as system software engineer in building the support for the whole developing cycle of Mac system. This will include work in system bring up, whole system software stacks(from firmware to application) debugging and new feature enabling, diagnose. As factory is critical place for the whole R&D life cycle of Mac system, you will play a technical leader role in factory as the representative of all Software related teams behind you to support you. Responsibilities include working closely with various teams internal to Apple to ensure that whole Mac system can work well in regression, in factory engineering manufacturing builds, and mass production. This includes design and implementation of software and firmware as well as system level debug of hardware, silicon, and software. The successful candidate should be comfortable working on a large spectrum of issues ranging from hardware/silicon issues to overall system operation, Mac OS X kernel to Applications and system diagnose, as well as being able to manage multiple focus areas simultaneously. Education Major in computer science, EE or related field. 4.Field Design Engineer Full-time (Beijing) Works evaluating the latest iPhone, iPad, iWatch etc. wireless systems in the field. This includes qualify S/W and H/W on different wireless technologies in the live network. The candidate will work with the development teams and other cross functional teams on identifying issues impacting system performance. They will perform deep dive analysis into internal logs to understand and identify root cause of system issues. Required Experience: Several years of relevant work experience: Live network test experience with the ability to identify specific test scenarios Strong cellular systems knowledge Education/Training Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Telecommunication Engineering as a minimum. Master degree is preferred. Technical training relating to Hardware and Software testing Technical understanding and experience with UMTS/LTE/VoLTE Must have: •Experience in Field Testing and Test methodologies for various wireless •Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage relationships across func- tional areas •Strong communication skills tailored to situation and audience •Fluent in English and local language(s) •Able to travel internationally Should have: Strong problem identification and issue resolution abilities Able to investigate and debug complex issue investigations – Issue tracking and management Strong background in statistical analysis and studies 5.Supply Quality Engineer Intern (Shanghai/Shenzhen) Description Responsible for developing, applying, revising, and maintaining quality standards for processing materials, solving complex quality engineering problems in creative and effective ways. Acts as a project leader on a variety of projects. Has a strong working knowledge of quality and reliability concepts, supplier management, with respect to general manufacturing operations management experience. Interfaces with other Apple functional groups as resources to optimize suppliers quality programs. Drive the development and implementation of Product Quality Plan (PQP). Works as a part of a New Products introduction team draw up and/or coordinate and implement the PQP for the site. In conjunction with the design engineers and the site engineers, determine the process goals for products. Evaluates the supplier processes and process controls to ensure product quality and reliability is built in. Monitors each supplier''s performance through measurements of production line statistics, company inspections and audits. Prepares summary of performance and communicates to appropriate management so that effective corrective action plans can be set in place if necessary. Develops supplier capability (including necessary training), establishes proper reporting of in- process and final inspection and test results to Apple. Establishes discovery audit procedures and ensures performance. Provides full support to an assigned area of production/service. May direct the activities of other engineers and technicians on specific tasks. Acts as a consultant to other engineering groups on design of experiments and the analysis of test data to determine outcome. Able to drive FA (Failure Analysis) and improvement actions through data, such as Minitab or JMP. Requirements MS or BS in engineering (mechanical preferred) Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, with good English. Good initiative and independently problem solving skills. Familiar measurement knowledge will be a plus. Traveling flexible and on site support needed. 6.MDE Intern (Shanghai) Description Working on enclosure parts of a NPI project onsite at factory. Mainly focusing on process development, including stamping/forming, CNC, polish, blasting, ano and sub assy for enclosure parts, bridge the communication between product design and manufacturing, help the vendor to do the machine/tooling/fixture qualification to make a robust process, solve technical issues if we have. Need to seamless work with cross functional team from in region and Cupertino.
