Job Summary
Apple's CoreOS organisation is looking for an exceptional engineer (fulltime or intern) to support and develop tools.

Description

For this position you need to work with multiple software teams to make sure all the software (BIOS, FWs, Mac OS X, diags, tools, etc.) in Macintosh system (Macbook Pro/Air, iMac, Mac mini, etc.) works well in all of the developing phases, including live debug in line, working with all software related teams to root cause and fix issues, and developing debug tools and new software functionality.

Key Qualifications

Have development or debugging experience in EFI BIOS/Linux Kernel developing/EC FWs/Solaris or other UNIX/Windows/Mac OS X.
Self-motivated and willing to take on responsibility, passion for work is very important.
Good at communication in English and Mandarin.
Excellent team player.
Willing to travel and work in factory.

Education
Major in computer science, EE or related field.

The Devices Team works on products and technologies for Apple's embedded platforms: iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Apple TV and Apple Watch. Description
What you will learn:
- How to create abstract APIs
- Writing device drivers for new components
- Build systems, integration, and makefiles
- Working with test equipment to debug HW/SW interactions
- oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, et cetera.
- Schematic reviews and interpretation
- Various inter-IC busses
- UART, I2C, I2S, SPI, HSIC, et cetera.
- Automation for testing and debugging

Requirements  
- Strong C language skills and understanding
- Debugging experience
- Operating Systems and coursework or relevant projects
- UNIX command line experience
- Clear and strong communication skills
- Creativity and flexibility
- Ability to deliver time-sensitive assignments
- Ability to learn new things
- SVN experience (or perforce, git, or similar)
- Good spoken and written English
- Minimum 3 months internship required.
Education: CS/EE/CE coursework or relevant projects experience
Bonuses:

Intern_Systems Integration Engineer

Description
The system integration engineer will be in charge of developing complete electromechanical systems to test iOS devices. The ideal candidate is an EE with good scripting skills and extensive experience selecting and integrating third party instruments and components.
Select and integrate the appropriate instruments/components based on Apple test ERS.
Design signal conditioning circuit and power distribution system to tie the different parts of the system together.
Design and implement the system software
Support the ongoing maintenance and change request of the test systems. Responsible for the system’s uninterrupted operation.
Create and maintain functional test plans, trouble shoot test plan implementation.
System BOM and Demand tracking analysis
Document the system SOP and FA procedure.
Test data analysis
Manage suppliers/manufacturing parters/test development schedule
Requirements
BS/MS EE or CS
Hands-on experience with bench/modular equipments such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, DMM, elec-  tronic loads.
Experience designing signal conditioning circuits.
Extensive hands-on experience with at least one programming language.
Must be flexible and capable of handling multi-task operations
Must be able to perform under tight schedule
The ability to learn new technologies fast
Attention to details
Extensive travel is required
Able to meticulous documents for system design, system manual and status report
Desired Experience
Scripting language (Python, Perl, Ruby etc.)
DSP Experience, OSX programming experience
Statistical analysis experience
Familiar with PCB manufacturing technology
